About

A building of great beauty, with its pointed openings and stylized clerestories, Bouaké's Grand Mosque welcomes numerous worshippers of different ethnicities and nationalities. Dating from the late 19th century (between 1881 and 1889), it is the city's oldest mosque. El Hadj Touré Bajawari, Bouaké's 9th Grand Imam, is the Mosque's administrator, and is deeply committed to "understanding between Muslims and practitioners of other religions".
